Pop Paper City

I am the official Craft Expert of Pop Paper City, produced by LoveLove Films in collaboration with Aardman, a vibrant and award-winning 3D craft show based on a group of unique creatures who live in a fantastic paper world. Each 11-minute episode follows the characters as they use crafts to have fun, solve problems and create new parts of their impressive paper world. Everything within Pop Paper City can be recreated at home using paper and other recyclable materials. Not only do children at home love the adventures the characters get into, but they also follow along as we inspire them to get crafty.

As the craft expert I am tasked with creating the craft that helping hand makes with the characters in each episode. I develop the child friendly craft and write step by step instructions which are used by the shows writers. These instructions are then spoken by nick Mohammad.

Meet Plom

Plom is the main character in Pop Paper City with a playful attitude and voiced by Eden Gough.

The 3D preschool craft adventure series is aimed at children aged 4-6. The craft montages in the show, which mix live action with 3D animation, aim to encourage the children watching at home to create their own crafts. A live-action human hand interacts wth the characters, helping to guide children through the crafting process so they can make their own paper world and characters whilst viewing. I had to create these promotional invitations for a Pop Paper City. They wanted to bring the animated characters to life in a pop up invitation which I think work really well. Working from computer generation images I handmade each character multiple times in paper and card mounted them onto folded card springs which made the characters Pop out when opened.
